NBA is never going to cease its development- and the tales of the most shining stars are never going to come to an end. In the case of Memphis Grizzlies guard Ja Morant, the 2025-26 season has already caused a storm. All of this was a result of an exasperating Friday night loss to the Los Angeles Lakers in which Morant seemed uninterested and allegedly had a verbal exchange with head coach Tuomas Iisalo. However, the adage goes that availability is the best ability. As long as Morant is capable of remaining on the court and eventually investing in the team-first mentality of the Grizzlies, his previously limitless ceiling will be marred with inconsistency.

The Grizzlies have to either keep investing in a superstar with enormous potential, but growing increasingly volatile, or move towards a new identity based on reliability and discipline.
To Morant, redemption is not doing highlight dunks and stat lines- it is professionalism. However, the story he is telling can still be transformed into a story of perseverance and rebirth should he be able to find some way of finding focus, acting as an example, and rebuilding trust in the organization. However, should such trends continue, his career is on the course of wasted potential.
